Road to Recovery.
Our programs
Our camps for troubled teen are designed
to help each teen understand what is blocking them from pursuing a constructive
purpose in life. Only then, can a lasting change occur.
We start by helping
them understand that positive behavior is essential to self-approval,
personal growth, and a successful future. On arrival, they find themselves
in an unfamiliar environment where manipulation is no longer possible.
Inappropriate behavior is confronted, consequences are assessed, and
the behavior is redirected. Appropriate behavior is reinforced and rewarded.
This is supported by a multi-level merit system where privileges are
earned by advancing through the levels.
Professionally guided,
peer group counseling is used to develop a sense of personal awareness
and responsibility. Borrowing from the highly successful 12-step model,
the teens are guided with the help of others to face past life choices
in a supportive and nurturing environment. Problem symptoms are addressed,
such as alcohol/substance abuse, anger, rebellion, lack of motivation,
and low self-esteem, which are in turn viewed for each individual as
pieces of a larger picture.
Each teen keeps
a daily journal to express and manage their feelings. As they progress,
they learn to appreciate the result of their actions and to understand
how those around them are affected. They learn about trust, integrity,
self-worth, and the value of positive choices. At the higher program
levels they become internally motivated, learning for themselves how
to make the right choices for the right reasons.
Reuniting the teen
with the family is the final step, but one for which creating the groundwork
begins immediately. We do this through weekly parent phone calls and
regularly scheduled Family Weekends conducted at the parents of one of
the teens in the program. In this supportive environment,
communication between the teen and family can begin again and conflict
areas can be resolved. Individual family counseling is also provided.
Our overriding goal is to assist families to become whole again.
Our graduates return
home to lead successful lives with their families and schools. They
will say yes to the people they said no to, and no to the people they
said yes to.

Honesty
Turning your will over to the fact. We admit that we were powerless over
our lives and that we have become unmanageable.
Open-Mindedness
Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to
sanity. Make a decision to turn our well and our lives over to the care
of God as we understand him. We make a seating and fearless moral
inventory of ourselves.
Willingness
Humbly ask him to remove our shortcomings. Make a list of persons we
have harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. We make
direct amends to such people and sought through prayer and meditation to
improve ourselves.
Counseling
is a healing journey for teens who are struggling in their home, school,
or Community. Using the most powerful methods available, combined with a
deep respect and love for the individuality of each young person, teens
are expertly guided to replace inappropriate behaviors and attitudes
with new productive choices. Then and only then do the wounds begin to
heal and the hearts begin to open. We are unique in addressing causes,
as well as symptoms. Defiant manipulative and out of control behavior
are masks of pain and fear that engulf a troubled teen. If we treat only
the symptoms, the underlying problems remain and often resurface later
in a more serious way affecting everyone around them.
Awareness
Growing up has never been easy. Today, in a world filled with violence,
daily distractions of drugs, alcohol, gangs, and other negative
influences, the most basis human need to feel safe and trusting becomes
impossible unless you provide a safe place where teens can build trust
and self-confidence and a sense of purpose. Teens achieve personal
insights generating deep and lasting change.
Rehabilitation
This complex challenge is a constant part of recovery process. Teens
that are unmanageable or involved in substance abuse require careful
direction. Teens separated from negative influences of peer groups, are
under careful direction by our professional counseling staff, and
supported by fellow recovering teens. This ongoing interaction and
supervision allows a teen to feel acceptance and reassurance, which is
so important for self worth, and lays a foundation to begin a new and
clean life.
Education
We provide a highly progressive academic program that
allows students to complete course on an accelerated basis. Upon
admission each student is assessed and in designed his own individual
curriculum and course study. We help them achieve their education goals
through a strong academic program geared to each individual. Achievement
and increased motivation are natural result of personalized instruction.
Academic credits are earned and valuable lost ground is made up. The
curriculum is individualized and advancement is completely based on
allowing each student to work at their own pace, and maximize the
learning process.
