Dealing with a troubled teen...
In a teen treatment center recreation a
key element is changing the focus away from old behaviors. As such,
we provide many fun activities for our residents.
These activities
include trips to the beach and the ocean, backpacking, camping, hiking, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, swimming,
nature walks, cattle drives, horseback riding, fishing, archery and challenge
courses.
Frequently, these
group activities take advantage of the heightened emotional awareness
that a new and natural environment produces and reinforce the feelings
of trust, and sense of purpose, among the residents.
Not all recreation
is physical. The program's different locations open a wide range of
opportunities for cultural experiences as well.
